Scaffold Erector. (Height Safety Level 1)

General Safety Regulation 6: Work in elevated positions No employer shall
require or permit any person to work in an elevated position, and no person shall work in an
elevatedposition, unless such work is performed safely from aladder or scaffolding, or from a position where such
person has been made as safe as if he were working from scaffolding. SANS 10085

Scaffold Inspector. (Erector Certificate)

The qualifying learner will acquire the necessary knowledge and skills
to inspect access scaffolding for compliance with the South African National Standards (SANS 10085).
This unit standard will serve, in conjunction withrelated unit standards, to develop the qualifying
learner to function as a scaffold inspector.

Supervise the erection and dismantling of access scaffolding

This supervisor of access scaffolding operations will be able to
read andinterpret drawings, liaise with the client, plan all activities and co-ordinate all required resources.

Assess a worksite for work at height and prepare a fall protection plan

Qualifying learners are able to develop fall protection plans for
people working at height, required by the Occupational Health and safety act (Act 85 of 1993).
